A letter from Gorlovka:
"Hello, perhaps you'll may publish my message. Today everyone is talking that the politicians in Paris came to an agreement and that supposedly soon we will have peace. The results of these "deals" are being felt tonight by many residents of Donetsk and Gorlovka. We are shelled again, and with each time the shelling is getting stronger! At first there was some strange explosion further away and then it was moving closer and closer to us, all the people are anxious. All we almost feel as Ukrainian artillery is creeping ever closer and closer. Emotions that we now experience words can not describe--one must go through them oneself.

The most disgusting in this situation that they [the politicians] hide  the truth from us. Most of what we get from official reports is but a half-truth. It is clear that under the Ukrainian punitive bombardments, the people of Gorlovka take with a good dose of skepticism the statements of our authorities about the "peaceful settlement" of the war. So the propagandists are spinning all as much as possible. Recently, we were told that there were no attacks there!!! Supposedly it is all merely military exercises, etc. You know, we no longer have even the power to get upset when we see all this. Our militia soldiers are turning eyes away from when we meet them in the streets. From the media there is nothing to learn as the most severe censorship has begun. We seek information from the friends. Now I hear a big bang. We pray that we'll live through the night ... "

"Здравствуйте, может быть опубликуете мое сообщение. Сегодня все говорят о том, что политики в Париже обо всём "договорились" и якобы у нас скоро настанет мир. Результаты этих "договоров" сегодняшним вечером почувствовали многие жители Донецка и горловчане. У нас опять стреляют, причём с каждым разом всё сильнее! Какие-то непонятные бахи сначала далеко, а потом всё ближе к нам, все люди в напряжении. Все мы почти физически ощущаем, как к нам всё ближе и ближе подкрадывается украинская артиллерия. Эмоции, которые мы сейчас испытываем словами не описать – это надо пережить… Самое гадкое в этой ситуации, что от нас скрывают правду, максимум, что мы получаем из официальных сообщений – это полуправду. Понятное дело, что под обстрелами украинских карателей горловчане с "некоторым скептицизмом" воспринимают заявления наших властей о "мирном урегулировании" этой войны. Вот пропагандисты и изворачиваются как могут. Недавно нам заявили, что никаких обстрелов нет!!! Якобы это всё учения и т.д.. Вы знаете, у нас даже возмущаться уже нету сил, глядя на всё это… Ополченцы на улицах от нас прячут глаза… В СМИ ничего путного не узнаешь, так как жесточайшая цензура началась. Питаемся сообщениями знакомых. Сейчас слышу треск. Молимся, чтобы пережить эту ночь…"
