#‎Putin‬ has no patience for threats. Ukrainian Nazism does not count. Or Russian oligarchies, his buddies. Unlike threats to his glory.

Putin's statement from today that Russia's been giving ammo to FSA,a CIA-backed enemy of Russia's Syrian ally, is part of his ongoing autism.

Autism is an disorder characterized by "impaired social interaction, verbal and non-verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behavior."

Putin: "I especially note that the work of our Air Force group contributes to the unification of the efforts between both the government armies and the Free Syrian Army. At present, some of its formations numbering more than five thousand people, as well as the regular army, are carrying out offensive action against the terrorists in the provinces of Homs, Hama, Aleppo and Rakka. In addition, we are supporting them from the air, just as we are also supporting the Syrian army, by providing them with assistance in weapons, ammunition supplies and material needs."

Boris Rozhin rushed in to offer his best possible spin on Putin’s statement from today that Russia under his command started arming the US-backed, CIA-created Free Syrian Army, an enemy of Russia’s Syrian ally. Something which a twitter  friend of mine called today’s „clusterfuxk.“ In doing so, Rozhin made an important confession: Moscow does want to sacrifice Assad—but not right away so that it is not that obvious and, if possible, to arrange it as Assad’s own idea. Moreover, what also comes out of Rozhin’s spin, which tries to save as much of the day as possible, is that, while trying to exude and project toughness and firmness, Putin assumed in this again a position of a poodle in front of the US and the West, which his fan club hails yet  again as a proof of him being the sole alpha dog of the world.

Boris Rozhin:  "The talks between Assad and a part of the rebels are the only way to end the civil war in Syria by non-military means, where Assad WILL HAVE TO AGREE TO LEAVE HIS OFFICE, even if not immediately, while the West and the opposition will have to agree to have talks with Assad talks about rebuilding Syria in the framework of the Lebanese, Bosnian or other model. THAT’S HOW THEY SEE IT IN MOSCOW. ... Among other things, a diplomatic ending of the Syrian war through achieving a compromise with the US is seen as one of the ways for somewhat improving relationship with the global hegemon, for, in Ukraine, this is not feasible, and the RUSSIAN ELITE AS A WHOLE IS ORIENTED TO THE WEST AS BEFORE (despite its official jingoism; literally: hurrah patriotism). That’s why the Russian Federation constantly urges US to work together (and even agrees to cooperate with the FSA …). All of this is a kind of attempt … to make the US change its policy towards the Russian Federation.”

El Murid's take on Putin's statement from today that Russia started sending weapons and giving support to the Free Syrian Army: "What was the point of mentioning [Russia's] assistance to the FSA? Evidently, to make our partners like us. They are not happy that Russia is helping Assad--so they need to be reassured. We are helping others too. The logic of such assistance is murky. It is as if, during the World War II, we had assisted Bandera's fighters because they happened to have some disputes with the Germans."

Russian oligarchy led by Putin is desperate to get back into the US grace.
Russia is now spending half of the revenues coming to its budget on buying US government bonds (both in August and September), and this support of the US "debt" is three times higher than the support for Russia's own economy in the same period.

El Murid again:

Western media summed up, Putin's bold statement of arming the Syrian equivalent of the Ukrainian Azov as follows:

"Putin also said that while supporting the Syrian government forces, Russia has provided air cover, weapons and supplies to some units of the Free Syrian Army, a Western-backed opposition group fighting Syrian President Bashar Assad's army. ... 'I order you to act in the toughest way,' Putin said. ... At the same time, he said that the military should cooperate with the U.S.-led coalition and Israel ... Russia also has introduced a slew of economic sanctions, including a ban on sales of tour packages to Turkey ... 'Our action there has NOT been prompted by some abstract geopolitical interests or a desire to train and test new weapons systems, WHICH IS IMPORTANT TOO,' Putin said."

We don't do all that for all those reasons, though they too are important for what we do. Political and moral autism in action.

Who said that Russia needs bright leadership? A Superman is enough.
