
Those people who were deciding which figurehead ought to misrepresent the "head" of the new Russia, the new colony that emerged from the unconditional and total capitulation of the USSR in the Cold War, are certainly not without a certain sarcastic sense of humor--if you realize that their choice for the first figurehead to "represent" new Russia was an alcoholic (Yeltsin) and the second is a tasteless greedy gnome charged with personifying false hopes for bygone "greatness."
