Several times Putin affirmed that both Russia and the US are pursuing in Syria the same goal or that their objectives coincide: the basis of this agreement appears to be the mutually peddled notion of the US separating at last its "moderate" proxies or US-supported militants from al Qaeda in Syria: think about it!

Dmitry Peskov, Putin's spokesman said: The US has failed to deliver on its written pledge to separate al Qaeda from al Qaeda allies--allies which the US supports.

Read this slowly and then think about it and then read it again.

If that does not help, try this:

President George W. Bush to a Joint Session of Congress and the American People on September 20, 2001--9 days after 9/11: "And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism.  Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.  (Applause.)  From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime." (official release)

President George Bush, on November 6, 2001: "There is no room for neutrality in the war against terrorism."
